Job Description

Description We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support and strengthen enterprise infrastructure in San Antonio, Texas. This role focuses on building reliable, secure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms while helping users and teams resolve complex technical issues. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Microsoft ecosystems, Azure services, and network security, along with the judgment and professionalism needed to work with sensitive systems and information.
Responsibilities:
  • Build, administer, and improve network and server environments with a focus on security, performance, and long-term scalability.
  • Maintain protective controls across systems and networks by applying established security standards, monitoring risks, and addressing exposures promptly.
  • Create and uphold technical policies, operating procedures, and infrastructure standards related to IP networking and system administration.
  • Diagnose and resolve escalated hardware, software, connectivity, and infrastructure problems across the organization.
  • Support Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Exchange-related services, and Active Directory environments.
  • Administer Azure resources, including virtual machines, virtual networks, databases, and identity services, while ensuring effective integration with on-premises platforms and business applications.
  • Configure and monitor firewalls, VPN connections, and other network security tools to maintain secure communication between offices, users, and cloud environments.
  • Perform patch management, vulnerability identification, and remediation activities to keep infrastructure current and protected.
  • Serve as a senior technical point of contact by documenting work accurately, managing support tickets efficiently, and providing users with clear status updates throughout issue resolution. Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver's license and a strong driving record.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise with network infrastructure, including firewalls, routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Office 365, and related enterprise tools.
  • Experience supporting Azure infrastructure and identity services in hybrid or cloud-based environments.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices for network, server, and cloud platforms, with the ability to respond effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with Fortinet products, VMware technologies, Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, and certifications such as Azure, Network+, Security+, or Windows Server administration credentials.
