Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced Recovery Imaging Operations & Automation Engineer in support of our nationally recognized, consumer and commercial electronic R D client in Spring, Texas (TX).Key Responsibilities:
Imaging Operations & Release Readiness:
- Own daily imaging operations including image ingestion, validation, catalog generation, signing, and publishing
- Process large-scale batch jobs across multiple platforms per cycle (20+)
- Validate image completeness, metadata, and manifests prior to production exposure
- Coordinate publishing and release timing aligned to factory milestones (PD, RC, RTM)
- Perform production-grade manual verification and cross-checks when automation or upstream data is incomplete
Triage & Factory Support:
- Triage
ODM/SEPM
tickets, alerts, and ingestion noise; Distinguish actionable issues from false positives- Provide guidance to ODMs on recurrent misconfigurations and data quality gaps
- Scale support during peak factory windows and adjust during non-burst periods
Automation & Tooling Improvements:
- Enhance internal catalog and imaging tools to reduce manual intervention
- Introduce structured error handling, diagnostics, and actionable error codes
- Design and implement pipeline-based workflows for manifest signing and catalog publishing
- Improve observability, failure detection, and root-cause analysis across large batch operations
Infrastructure & Reliability:
- Reduce single-user/single-desk dependency for on-prem imaging infrastructure
- Propose and stabilize secure, shared on-prem storage and compute solutions
- Account for non-cloud constraints including high data volumes, transfer costs, and peak performance limits
Technical Program Management:
- Manage publishing and release of imaging components to Pulsar, Softpaqs, and Cloud
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to streamline workflows and improve operational maturity
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of experience in production operations, systems engineering, or recovery/factory-critical environments
- Hands-on experience with OS imaging, recovery systems, catalog/image processing, or large-scale batch workflows
- Proven ownership of end-to-end production pipelines including ingestion, validation, signing, publishing, and release readiness
- Strong experience with automation, scripting, and tooling to reduce manual operational effort
- Demonstrated ability to operate under bursty workloads aligned to release or factory milestones (PD, RC, RTM)
- Experience triaging high-volume operational noise, alerts, and tickets; Strong signal-to-noise judgment
- Ability to perform production-grade manual validation when automation or upstream data is incomplete
- Experience improving error handling, diagnostics, logging, and operational observability
- Familiarity with on-prem infrastructure, shared storage/compute models, and multi-user access controls
- Understanding of non-cloud constraints including high data volumes, transfer costs, and peak-load performance
- Strong coordination and communication skills across engineering, factory, ODM, and release stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with imaging or publishing pipelines (e.g., manifest signing, catalog publishing, secure artifact distribution)
- Background supporting recovery-critical or factory manufacturing systems
- Experience with PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages
- Prior technical program management or release management experience
- Demonstrated success driving operational standardization and eliminating single-point-of-failure dependencies The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.
