Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise application infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. This role is responsible for infrastructure planning, platform upgrades, compliance initiatives, disaster recovery testing, deployment automation, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux and Windows server environments, cloud technologies, container platforms, automation, and infrastructure engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities
Design, build, maintain, and support application infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
Plan and execute hardware migrations, operating system upgrades, patching activities, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline operational processes and infrastructure management.
Install, configure, and administer web servers, application servers, and middleware platforms.
Manage secure file transfer solutions and enterprise workload scheduling platforms.
Administer SSL certificates, key management solutions, and load balancing technologies.
Support cloud infrastructure services, networking, security, storage, and compute environments.
Configure, manage, and support containerized applications and Kubernetes-based platforms.
Collaborate with development teams to migrate applications from traditional infrastructure to cloud-native environments.
Architect scalable and secure infrastructure solutions for web, application, and batch processing workloads.
Implement and support automated deployment pipelines and release management processes.
Plan and execute disaster recovery testing and business continuity initiatives.
Support incident management, change management, release management, and operational support activities.
Coordinate infrastructure-related projects and collaborate with cross-functional technology teams.
Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and compliance while driving continuous improvements.
Participate in on-call support rotations and assist in troubleshooting production issues. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
Experience planning and leading hardware migrations, operating system patching, and upgrade initiatives across Linux and Windows server environments.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Shell scripting, Bash, KornShell (ksh), Perl, or similar technologies.
Experience installing, configuring, and administering Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, and WebSphere environments.
Experience supporting SFTP, Managed File Transfer (MFT), and workload scheduling solutions.
Experience managing SSL certificates, certificate lifecycle management tools, and load balancing platforms.
Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and services, including:
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Object Storage
Key Management Services
Compute Services
Databases
Virtual Networks
Security Groups and Network Security Controls
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
Monitoring and Observability Tools
Experience administering Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration platforms.
Experience with Docker and containerized application deployments.
Experience supporting cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including container services such as EKS and AKS.
Experience architecting infrastructure solutions for application, web, and batch processing environments.
Experience implementing automated deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, uDeploy, or equivalent platforms.
Experience with release management, change management, and incident management processes.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience working in Agile environments with a focus on continuous delivery and operational excellence. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with messaging and event-streaming platforms such as IBM MQ, Apache Artemis, or Apache Kafka.
Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog.
Experience using Agile collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications in hybrid cloud environments.
Knowledge of infrastructure security, compliance, and disaster recovery best practices.
