Overview
SYSTEMS ENGINEER
(MID) (LI2S) Bowhead seeks a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Solutions - Marine Corps (LI2S-MC) in Stafford, VA. The Systems Engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment. The Systems Engineer will support the Product Manager, Global Combat Support Systems (PdM, GCSS-MC) and oversee the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. Will integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance support. And consider overall project design including cost, schedule, and social issues that may be associated with a project. This position may require occasional CONUS travel. Responsibilities Provide continuous systems engineering (SE), technical, and functional subject matter expertise (SME) to Warehouse Management System (WMS) project planning, execution, and lifecycle support. Maintain WMS requirements and specifications in the DOORS database, providing requirements management support for use case development, fit/gap analysis, and traceability to test plans and results. Provide technical support to WMS engineering activities, including In-Process Reviews (IPRs) and Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), and will provide technical assessments of documentation for all SETR and TRAP events. Support scheduled WMS Integrated Government Schedule (IGS) meetings by providing updates on SE tasks and maintaining the master WMS project schedule diagram by liaising with team members. Support the review of Oracle Unified Methodology (OUM) documentation by generating and maintaining a master Comment Resolution Matrix (CRM) and analyzing final reports for comment adjudication compliance. Provide SE assessments, technical and functional analyses, the
WMS DOORS
Database, and the WMS project schedule diagram as requested. Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. MA/MS degree preferred. At least six (6) years of professional experience including at least four (4) years of specialized experience on high visible or mission critical projects within the Department of War (DoW) or industry. Experience with Navy or Marine Corps programs preferred; experience with logistics systems desired. Model-Based Systems Engineering experience and Cameo Systems Modeler tool a plus. Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task. Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently. Requires excellent communication skills both oral and written.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
