Position Description:

The experienced Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and sustaining resilient cloud and edge infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Kubernetes, Linux systems engineering, and cloud-native infrastructure — and has hands-on experience building secure, highly available environments that operate in disconnected, degraded, intermittent, and low-bandwidth (DIL) conditions.

MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE

Responsibilities The Platform Engineer will collaborate closely with software, networking, cybersecurity, and systems engineering teams to deliver scalable, mission-focused platform solutions across the following domains: Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering Design and implement scalable, multi-tier cloud-native architectures Build highly available, fault-tolerant, multi-region platform solutions Kubernetes Platform Engineering Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters using k0s, k3s, or upstream Kubernetes Optimize cluster resource utilization through resource requests, limits, and quotas Configure networking, ingress controllers, and service routing Linux Systems Engineering Administer and harden Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments Configure routing, DNS, and host-based firewalling Infrastructure Automation & Platform Operations Develop and maintain declarative infrastructure-as-code (IaC) workflows using Terraform or equivalent tooling Additional Areas of Responsibility Platform Networking & Security Observability & Monitoring Disconnected /

DIL Operations Compensation:

Compensation at Decision Technologies, Inc. is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Pay:

$115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
