Job title Google Cloud Platform Architect Location Issaquah, WA Contract 12+ months A Google Cloud Platform Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). They work closely with stakeholders, developers, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into cloud architectures. Key Responsibilities Design and implement cloud-native architectures using Google Cloud Platform services Lead cloud migration strategies from on-premises or other clouds Define best practices for security, scalability, and cost optimization Architect solutions using services like:

Compute:

Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE),

Cloud Run Storage:

Cloud Storage, BigQuery Networking:

VPC, Load Balancing, Cloud CDN Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate requirements Monitor system performance and optimize cloud resources Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Expertise in: Cloud architecture design patterns Microservices & containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager)

Knowledge of:

Networking (VPC, DNS, VPN, firewall rules) Security (IAM roles, encryption, identity management) Data services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow) Experience with scripting/programming: Python, Java, or Go Certifications (Preferred) Google Professional Cloud Architect Google Professional Data Engineer (optional but valuable) Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking Excellent communication and stakeholder management Ability to lead architecture discussions and mentor teams Experience Typically 5-10+ years in IT/cloud roles At least 2-4 years hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience Nice-to-Have Multi-cloud exposure (AWS/Azure) Experience with AI/ML services on Google Cloud Platform Cost optimization and FinOps knowledge
