In this vital role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our IT infrastructure by analyzing security measures, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing robust defense strategies. Your expertise will help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our digital assets across diverse platforms and environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of cybersecurity, supporting organizational resilience through proactive threat detection and incident response. Responsibilities Monitor and analyze network traffic using SIEM tools to detect potential security threats and anomalies. Conduct vulnerability assessments and research to identify weaknesses within IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SAN, and cloud environments. Implement and manage security controls such as firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, VPNs, and encryption protocols in accordance with NIST standards and
ISO 27000
series frameworks. Support incident response efforts by investigating security breaches, performing root cause analysis, and coordinating incident recovery procedures. Maintain system security plans and perform system hardening on operating systems like Windows, Linux (Debian, CentOS), macOS, and openSUSE to mitigate risks. Manage identity & access management solutions including LDAP, Active Directory, SSO, RBAC, and Cisco ISE to ensure proper user authentication and authorization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network architecture projects involving routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), network installation, load balancing, cloud architecture (AWS, Google Cloud Platform), and virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere. Skills Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN design, TCP/IP stack, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF), DHCP, DNS, IPsec VPNs, Ethernet standards, and network protocols. Proficiency in cybersecurity tools including SIEM platforms (Splunk), threat detection & response systems like SolarWinds or PRTG, Fiddler for traffic analysis, and New Relic for application monitoring. Strong understanding of system administration across multiple operating systems including Windows Server environments and Linux distributions such as Debian or CentOS. Experience with vulnerability management techniques—vulnerability assessment tools, penetration testing methodologies—and vulnerability research to proactively identify security gaps. Familiarity with cloud computing services (AWS, Azure), cloud infrastructure security best practices (FedRAMP compliance), and open-source automation tools like Ansible or Terraform for configuration management. Knowledge of cryptographic principles including PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), FIPS standards for data protection, encryption algorithms, and secure system hardening practices. Ability to develop comprehensive incident management plans aligned with frameworks such as RMF or DIACAP; expertise in threat intelligence analysis; experience with incident recovery procedures. Strong scripting skills in Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell or Python to automate routine tasks; understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines for secure software deployment.
