Job Requirements Los Angeles, CA Top Secret/SCI Polygraph not specified Senior Level Career (10+ yrs experience) $120,000 - $140,000 Job Description osition Overview Vision IT is seeking a highly experienced Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) - Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB). The selected candidate will serve as the appointed ISSM for AFSCI at LAAFB and act as the lead governance authority responsible for managing the AFSCI Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, overseeing installation-wide cybersecurity compliance, and serving as the primary advisor for all local cybersecurity matters. This position requires extensive experience in cybersecurity governance, RMF implementation, compliance oversight, and secure operations within Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Air Force environments. The ISSM will ensure all applicable DoD and Air Force cybersecurity requirements, directives, and operational standards are fully implemented and maintained in accordance with contractual and mission requirements. (This Position is Contingent Upon Award) Key Responsibilities Serve as the appointed ISSM for AFSCI operations at LAAFB. Lead and manage the
AFSCI RMF
process in accordance with DoD and Air Force cybersecurity policies and guidance. Oversee installation-wide cybersecurity compliance and ensure adherence to all applicable security requirements, directives, and operational standards. Serve as the primary advisor to Government leadership and operational stakeholders for all local cybersecurity matters. Ensure all information systems maintain compliance with RMF, NIST, STIG, and Air Force cybersecurity requirements. Coordinate cybersecurity governance activities including system authorizations, assessments, audits, inspections, and accreditation efforts. Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, plans, and security documentation. Review and validate security controls, system configurations, and cybersecurity implementations for operational effectiveness and compliance. Coordinate with system owners, ISSOs, cybersecurity teams, engineers, and operational personnel to ensure secure mission operations. Monitor cybersecurity posture, identify risks and vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies and corrective actions. Support incident response, reporting, remediation efforts, and continuous monitoring activities. Provide cybersecurity guidance, technical leadership, and mentorship to support personnel and stakeholders. Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI security clearance required. 12-20+ years of relevant experience Extensive experience serving in ISSM, cybersecurity management, or information assurance leadership roles within DoD or U.S. Air Force environments. Strong expertise in Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST standards, STIG implementation, and cybersecurity compliance management. Experience supporting classified environments and secure mission systems. Demonstrated experience leading cybersecurity governance, accreditation, and compliance activities. Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, Air Force security requirements, and operational security procedures. Proven ability to assess cybersecurity risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Air Force Special Access Programs (SAP), SCI environments, or classified mission systems. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CASP+, Security+, or equivalent DoD-approved cybersecurity certifications. Experience with enterprise cybersecurity tools, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring platforms. Prior experience serving as an ISSM in large-scale enterprise or installation-level environments. Work Location Onsite at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) Why Vision IT?
