Position Specific Description The Principal PGD Engineer role supports Industrial Control System (ICS) in the NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) space, and the implementation of Cybersecurity requirements in fossil, renewable and control center operational environments. Team members in this role will work in conjunction with subject matter experts on ICS security design, configuration, and maintenance in operational technology (OT) environments. Candidates will leverage their technical understanding of network infrastructure, security appliances, and security control configurations within ICS environments, and have responsible for managing one or more
NERC CIP 002
through 013 standard requirement programs. Duties will include but not be limited to: Plans and directs process designs, procurement, integration, and maintenance of the of Bulk Electric System (BES) Cybersecurity projects and tool(s), which impact generation facilities and control centers Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing BES Cybersecurity processes, including assessment and baseline tool(s) Develop and deliver a compliant cybersecurity service delivery model in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Applies knowledge and experience in own discipline, while continuing to acquire and develop higher-level knowledge and skills Builds and promotes knowledge of the organization, team, processes, and customers Supports NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) requirements, audits, and evidence Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Preferred Experience:
Advanced experience and understanding of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standard requirements Experience implementing BES security control programs and projects Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience working with cybersecurity and vulnerability assessment processes Experience with security baselining across OT technology environments Risk management experience
Additional Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, and guides extensive technical programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance Negotiates critical and controversial issues with high level management and officers of their organizations and companies Occasional travel to generations facilities for technical and audit support Performs other job-related duties as assigned Due to the 24 hour, 7 days per week nature of power generation, night, weekend, and holiday support via telephone or call-out, may be required Desired Qualifications for a Candidate to
