Job Description

Position Summary The Data Center Security Lead serves as the primary onsite authority for day-to-day physical security operations within a mission-critical environment. This is a "player-coach" role that combines high-level technical oversight of security systems with the direct leadership of the security officer team. The Lead ensures that the site remains uncompromised by enforcing strict access protocols, managing real-time incident responses, and maintaining the operational readiness of all security infrastructure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Lead physical security operations protecting critical infrastructure, customer assets, and uptime, including access control, surveillance, and incident response. Develop and enforce security SOPs governing data hall access, clean‑room controls, badge validation, visitor management, and escort requirements. Serve as the primary escalation point for security events that could impact safety, operations, compliance, or customer trust. Supervise security staff and vendors to ensure post coverage, procedural compliance, and professionalism in a customer‑facing environment. Oversee and validate operation of access control systems, CCTV, alarms, SOC monitoring, and incident reporting tools supporting 24/7 operations. Partner with Safety, Facilities, IT, and Operations during maintenance windows, construction activity, and emergency response events. Conduct periodic security risk assessments and recommend controls aligned to critical infrastructure and data center best practices. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 3-5 years in high-stakes physical security, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or "Lead" capacity (Data Center or Critical Infrastructure experience preferred).
Technical Proficiency:
Advanced knowledge of security platforms such as Lenel, Genetec, or C-CURE, and experience with visitor management software.
Certifications:
PSP (Physical Security Professional) is highly preferred. OSHA 10 or basic safety certifications.
Soft Skills:
Calm under pressure, exceptional report-writing skills, and the ability to communicate security requirements firmly but professionally to clients and vendors. High school diploma or GED.
