Job Requirements Elkridge, MD Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description We are seeking a motivated Student Intern to join our Applied Cybersecurity Research team supporting endpoint platform security initiatives. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working within a research lab environment to design, implement, and evaluate proof of concept (PoC) security capabilities across modern computing platforms. The selected candidate will collaborate with engineers and researchers to explore device-level security features spanning hardware, firmware, operating systems, and enterprise/cloud-connected security services. Interns will contribute to integration efforts, validation testing, documentation, and technical demonstrations that advance secure platform design and implementation practices. This position is ideal for students interested in systems security, operating systems, device architecture, or enterprise security technologies who are looking to apply academic knowledge in a real-world applied research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in building and integrating proof of concept security capabilities on modern endpoint computing platforms Support configuration, testing, and validation of operating system and device security features Develop scripts or integration code to collect device-level security telemetry Collaborate with team members to analyze results and improve prototype implementations Contribute to technical documentation, including: Lab configurations Integration approaches Test plans and validation results Support the development of technical artifacts such as: Runbooks Architecture diagrams Demonstration environmentsWork Conditions:

Ability to work in a lab setting Occasional handling of computing equipment or hardware components (rack and stack) Prolonged periods of working at a workstation Required Skills Current Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Information Security Information Technology Or a closely related technical discipline Foundational knowledge of computer systems architecture (hardware, firmware, operating system stack) Familiarity with Windows or Linux operating system environments Understanding of basic networking concepts (e.g., routing, DNS, identity services, directory services) Programming or scripting experience in one or more of the following: Python PowerShell C# JavaScript Go Or similar languages Experience working with APIs or automation scripts Strong written and verbal technical communication skills Analytical and problem-solving ability Systems-level thinking across hardware and software layers Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical configurations Initiative and willingness to learn in a research-oriented environment Attention to detail in documenting technical processes Collaboration and teamwork skills Ability to manage tasks independently with guidance Desired Skills Knowledge of public key infrastructure (PKI), digital certificates, or cryptographic concepts Familiarity with endpoint management or security platforms Exposure to cloud-connected devices or identity management systems Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines or development workflows Awareness of Zero Trust architecture principles or device posture assessment concepts Experience working with security telemetry, logging, or compliance monitoring tools Additional Details At CyberCore, we believe in taking care of our employees both inside and outside the workplace.Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

This range is a good-faith estimate that reflects various experience levels.
