Job Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale security and fire system projects, primarily tied to new construction and capital investments. This includes project creation; development, review and finalization of design documents; review of submittals and RFI's; creation and tracking of project schedules; and monitoring of field progress to ensure that project scope and schedule are maintained. The Project Manager is also responsible for addressing unforeseen conditions, tracking expenditures, creating purchase requisitions, and maintaining budgets. This position will regularly interact with facility engineering, construction contractors, and vendors while reporting project status to finance and security management. The role requires strong project management skills, technical understanding of security infrastructure, and the ability to collaborate across departments and external sources.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee the design and installation of large-scale security/fire systems, generally associated with new construction and capital investment.

Manage multiple complex projects at the same time and determine what activities should take priority on a day-to-day basis.

Determine, with the support of Finance and Purchasing, how capital investment projects go to market for vendor selection and method of execution.

Coordinate project execution with customers and vendors.

Create, communicate and manage project scopes of work.

Issue scope change orders when necessary.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, regional construction partners, and suppliers.

Create security infrastructure policies or standards to improve protection and align with company objectives.

Perform physical security site surveys.

Report on project status, progress, metrics, risks, test results, and deployment activities.

Provide feedback of project progress to team members and stakeholders.

Prepare and present regular projects status updates.

Coach and mentor others on standards, policies, procedures, and project milestones and expectations.

Provide SME (Subject Matter Expert) perspective across business units outside of Security including EHS, ME, Purchasing, HR, and Risk Management.

Understanding of the latest technology, best practices, industry standards, and project management strategies to ensure that efficiencies and productivity are optimized, and department goals are aligned with the company.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institutionMinimum 2 years progressively responsible experience in project engineering and project management in a manufacturing environmentIn-depth knowledge of CCTV systems, intrusion detection systems, access control system software and hardware, and fire alarm systemsBudgeting, cost estimating, and cost analysis experienceProcess optimization and improvement experienceWorking knowledge of computer network infrastructure, electrical and power requirements, and database applicationsExperience prioritizing and handling multiple complex construction or system installation assignments concurrentlyDemonstrated understanding of current fire, electrical, and building codes including NFPA, NEC, IBC, and ADAUnderstanding of electrical and network infrastructure and installation practicesProficient computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
