DESCRIPTION
BENEFITS Description Missoula College is inviting applications for the Director of Center for Cybersecurity Workforce & Rural Policy. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Center for Cybersecurity Workforce & Rural Policy, with accountability for statewide program outcomes, sustainability, and compliance. Develop and articulate a compelling statewide vision for cybersecurity workforce development and rural policy impact, including effectively telling the Center's story to ensure long-term relevance and support. Lead efforts to transition funding from one-time-only (OTO) sources toward sustainable, recurring funding models, including grants, partnerships, and legislative support. Serve as the technical and strategic representative for statewide cybersecurity planning and advocacy efforts, including Secure Montana, SLCGP, and collaborative initiatives with State Information Technology Services Division, Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, and other state agencies. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with legislators, state agencies, the private sector, and funding partners to advance program goals and ensure continued support. Provide technical guidance and direction for CyberMontana initiatives, establishing frameworks that drive activities and content for cyber clinics, professional development, tabletop exercises, and related programs. Support Missoula College and cybersecurity curriculum initiatives, including K-12 and boot camp programs. Lead strategic planning efforts, ensuring follow-through, implementation, and alignment with institutional and statewide priorities. Direct the collection, analysis, reporting, and distribution of metrics to demonstrate program impact, inform decision-making, and support funding, compliance, and advocacy requirements. Provide oversight and strategic direction for educational, operational, and policy initiatives, including the Montana Cyber Range and the teaching SOC. Assess emerging cybersecurity risks and align Center initiatives with evolving threat landscapes, regulatory expectations, and statewide resilience goals. Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated leadership experience in cybersecurity, workforce development, public policy, law enforcement, military or a closely related field, supported by a relevant degree or experience. Minimum of three years of progressively responsible management or supervisory experience. Political, organizational, and interpersonal intelligence, with the ability to identify barriers to success and develop practical strategies to overcome them. Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, workforce needs, and the role of education and training in addressing statewide and rural challenges. Proven ability to manage personnel, including supervising staff and coordinating cross-functional teams. Budget development and management skills, including monthly tracking and collaboration with fiscal leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce newsletters, flyers, press releases, reports, and briefing materials. Experience overseeing web presence and digital communications for programs or organizations. Strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to move from vision to execution. Ability to collect, analyze, and report metrics to demonstrate program effectiveness and inform diverse stakeholders. Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Degree in cybersecurity, public administration or policy, information technology, education, or a related field. Established professional network within cybersecurity, education, or public policy communities at the state or national level. Additional Information Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment contract and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.
