Senior Security Engineer

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Security Engineer for our client, the leading manufacturer of strength and conditioning equipment in Columbus, OH! This is a full-time, direct hire position based onsite in Columbus.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Implement, configure, troubleshoot, and operate security systems daily. Directly impact the security posture, ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS and GDPR, and evolve defenses against emerging threats. Work closely with developers, IT, and leadership to build robust security solutions and promote security awareness throughout the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and monitor endpoint detection & response (CrowdStrike) and anti-ransomware solutions (Halcyon). Operate and respond to security alerts using Google SecOps

SIEM/SOAR

platform, leading incident investigations. Conduct automated penetration testing with NodeZero and oversee threat intelligence feeds like Recorded Future. Administer and maintain firewall and Zero Trust solutions, including Cloudflare WAF and Zscaler. Support and manage VMware virtualization and Linux server environments. Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, GDPR, and other regulations through audit readiness and remediation. Drive security awareness programs and contribute to risk management by maintaining the organization's Risk Register.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered 5+ years of experience in security engineering (e-commerce industry a plus) Strong hands-on experience managing EDR/XDR (CrowdStrike), SIEM (Google SecOps), vulnerability assessment tools (NodeZero), and threat intelligence feeds Proven ability to administer and secure cloud and on-premises environments (GCP, Azure, Linux, VMware) Familiarity with regulations and compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA) Proficiency in scripting (Python preferred), network security, firewall management, and ethical hacking principles

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This full-time position offers an annual base salary range of $130-160k, commensurate with experience in addition to bonus potential. The organization provides a robust benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage in addition to paid time off.

$130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
