Duties:
Investigate computer-based crimes and cyber intrusion security incidents by analyzing digital evidence and deriving information in support of system and network vulnerability mitigation. Assist companies and counsel in response to fraud, misconduct, and non-compliance allegations by developing, performing, and supervising database and structured data related projects, which may include establishing data discovery and collection processes, performing complex data analysis, supervising staff on various project tasks, and being the key point of contact for clients. Utilize scripting and database experience to ingest, normalize and analyze large client data sets. Identify, research, and organize information to assess the appropriateness and sufficiency of available data to facilitate effective data access and analysis. Extract complex data from client investigations and litigation matters and assist in writing expert reports and preparing testimony. Preserve and present computer-related evidence in support of criminal, fraud, counterintelligence, and law enforcement investigations. Train and develop team members on various data analysis techniques and tools. Assist with recruiting and training efforts as needed.
Requirements:
Employer will accept a master's degree (or a foreign equivalent degree) in Digital Forensics, Information Security, or a related field plus 1 year (12 months) of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
Position requires demonstrated proficiency in:
1. Programming, data analysis, model development, and database management using Python, Bash, SQL, T-SQL, and Excel. 2. Analysis of cybersecurity incidents, including ransomware, insider threats, data exfiltration, and intellectual property theft using: Magnet Axiom, FTKImager, Cellebrite Inspector, and MacAPT. 3. Digital forensic examination of Windows systems, including evidence acquisition, browser forensics, log analysis, and forensic reporting. 4. Digital forensic examination of macOS and iOS devices, including incident response and intrusion analysis for compromised Apple devices. 5. Use of scripting to automate forensic data collection, extract system artifacts, and analyze large datasets. 6. Database and structured data analysis to support fraud, misconduct, software licensing compliance, and cybersecurity investigations. 7. Use of open-source intelligence (OSINT), web scraping, and manual verification techniques to identify and remediate exposed personal or sensitive data online. 8. Analysis of complex datasets to identify indicators of suspicious activity, insider misconduct, or intellectual property risk. 9. Providing support for international engagements, including investigations involving Korean multinational entities. May require domestic travel for client-related matters up to 20%. May telecommute 50%.
