This is a remote position. Cyber Centaurs is not the biggest DFIR firm, but we are building the best. Our mission is to train and develop the sharpest minds in digital forensics and incident response. Inspired by elite special-operations teams, we combine precision, discipline, and relentless curiosity to solve cybercrime and protect our clients. When you join Cyber Centaurs, you don't just take a job, you enter a mentorship-driven program designed to transform high-potential professionals into world-class DFIR experts. The Opportunity This role is built for motivated professionals with 0-2 years of cybersecurity or IT experience. You don't need to know everything yet, what matters most is your mindset: intelligent, adaptable, and eager to learn. You'll receive direct mentorship from senior investigators and will be trained in "the Cyber Centaurs way", a rigorous approach blending technical depth, investigative discipline, and client-facing professionalism. What You'll Do
  • Assist in forensic investigations across computers, mobile devices, and cloud systems.
  • Support live incident response engagements: analyze logs, detect attacker activity, and contribute to containment.
  • Research new attack techniques and help integrate findings into our playbooks.
  • Contribute to client-ready reports and documentation for legal and corporate investigations.
  • Participate in proactive threat-hunting operations alongside the team. Requirements
  • A strong foundation in IT, cybersecurity, or computer science (degree or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with operating systems, networks, and forensic fundamentals (chain of custody, imaging, preservation).
  • Coursework, labs, or certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CHFI, ACE, GCFA, GCFE, GCIH, or ECIH are preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professionalism, resilience under pressure, and adaptability in fast-moving environments. Benefits
  • Elite Mentorship
  • Train directly with senior DFIR experts and accelerate your growth.
  • Structured Development
  • Sponsored certifications, training, and skill advancement.
  • Performance Incentives
  • Certification achievements translate into recognition and bonuses.
  • Meaningful Work
  • Contribute to high-profile, real-world investigations where your work truly matters.
  • Remote Flexibility
  • Work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Competitive Benefits
  • Medical, Vision, Dental, Unlimited PTO, Paid Holidays, and Sick Leave.
