Position:
Information System Security Engineer Location :
Remote, Travel 15-25% The qualified Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) must be self-motivated, transparent, dependable, responsible, hardworking and capable of working on an agile program. The selected candidate will be expected to engage with program leadership, external business partners and customers, as required to provide technical information regarding the program.
Job Responsibilities:
The ISSE will be responsible for full RMF integration this Navy progra. The selected candidate shall perform and/or review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, develop documentation, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies. Working with other team members, the ISSE will ensure all aspects of RMF and security are incorporated into the system design throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide ISSE Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Information Assurance & Cybersecurity for Navy software, system and hardware development
  • Apply knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Establish policies & procedures that implement the SDLC, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and RMF artifact standards and best practices
  • Participate as the primary security-engineering representative on development and engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and/or integration of secure technologies across all environments.
  • Primary security representative for all teams to serve as the liaison for customer security team throughout the full SDLC.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • Compliant
DOD 8570.01-M
certification status (with a preference on IASAE II or III)
  • 10+ years of Navy ISSE experience utilizing expertise in DIACAP, RMF, ISSE, NQV and performing other ancillary security engineering duties.
  • Expert understanding of the full RMF process and policy, SLCM and SDLC.

This job operates in a professional office environment and occasionally datacenters. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Level of noise is low to moderate.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
