Active Top Secret / SCI Required Position Overview Special Aerospace Security Services, Inc. (SASSI) is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Office of the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (DoD CIO), Deputy CIO for Cybersecurity (DCIO CS). This role focuses on cryptographic modernization, cybersecurity architecture, and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) initiatives supporting enterprise-level DoD systems and mission environments. This is a high-visibility position supporting strategic cybersecurity efforts across the Department of Defense, requiring strong experience in cybersecurity policy, enterprise architecture, risk management, and emerging technology evaluation. The ideal candidate will bring a balanced understanding of both technical and governance aspects of cybersecurity, with the ability to support modernization efforts across complex, large-scale environments. Key Responsibilities Provide senior-level expertise supporting DoD cryptographic modernization efforts, including evaluation of current encryption approaches and transition considerations toward quantum-resistant technologies Support development and coordination of enterprise cybersecurity architecture and integration strategies across DoD systems, networks, and mission environments Contribute to analysis and modernization of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), and identity technologies Support evaluation of cryptographic tools, technologies, and enterprise discovery capabilities used to assess encryption across large-scale environments Analyze cybersecurity risks and provide recommendations to strengthen availability, integrity, confidentiality, authentication, and non-repudiation across DoD systems Collaborate with DoD components, DISA, NSA, and other stakeholders on cryptographic modernization and PQC-related initiatives Support development of cybersecurity policies, strategies, and technical guidance aligned with DoD Digital Modernization priorities Prepare and deliver technical analysis, reports, and executive-level briefings to support leadership decision-making Support cybersecurity integration across system lifecycles, including acquisition programs and enterprise IT environments Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred) 15+ years of experience supporting cybersecurity, enterprise IT, or national security systems Experience supporting DoD or federal cybersecurity programs at a senior level Strong understanding of: cybersecurity architecture and enterprise systems risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF) identity and access management concepts Experience evaluating security technologies, architectures, or modernization initiatives Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting senior leadership Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Desired Qualifications Experience supporting cryptographic modernization, PKI, or identity technologies Familiarity with Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) concepts or transition planning Experience working with DoD CIO, DISA, NSA, or Intelligence Community organizations Knowledge of supply chain risk management (SCRM) and acquisition processes (e.g., JCIDS, Program Protection Plans) Experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity strategy, policy development, or cross-agency coordination
