Job Description Some security roles are about maintaining systems. This one is about outthinking adversaries. We're looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Purple Team — where offensive and defensive security meet. You'll work at the intersection of attack simulation, threat detection, response, and engineering, helping shape how we identify, understand, and stop sophisticated threats before they become incidents. Total Compensation:
$115,000-$170,000🛡 FBI Clearance Required (must successfully pass background investigation) Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing Collaborate across offensive and defensive security functions to strengthen detection and response capabilities Develop and improve threat detection and security monitoring strategies Leverage Splunk to identify patterns, analyze threats, and build actionable detections Work with Cloudflare technologies to strengthen security posture and visibility Conduct threat analysis, investigate suspicious activity, and support incident response efforts Help improve security engineering processes, playbooks, and automation Partner with technical teams to continuously raise the organization's security maturity Training, candidate will learn new skills and work with world class offensive security professionals Required Skills What We're Looking For Strong experience as a Security Engineer, Detection Engineer, Security Operations Engineer, Purple Team member, or related role Hands-on experience with Splunk Experience with Cloudflare platforms and security capabilities Strong Windows, Linux and networking knowledge Deep understanding of security operations, attack methodologies, and threat detection Ability to think like both an attacker and a defender Preferred Qualifications Security certifications such as CEH, Security+, GCIH, GCIA, CISSP, or similar Experience with threat hunting, adversary simulation, or Purple Team exercises Background in cloud or enterprise security environments Education A high school diploma or GED is required. Education or experience equivalent to a college degree is preferred. At least four years of MIS experience preferred. At least two years of experience with direct responsibility for information security, IS policy development, implementation, and administration is preferred.
