SOC Analyst

SOC Analyst (L2) Hybrid - Miami, FL 3 Month Contract (Potential to Extend) $50-60/hr Overview We are seeking an experienced SOC Analyst to join a cybersecurity operations team in a mission-critical contract role. This position will support security monitoring, incident investigation, and threat detection activities. Key Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to escalated security alerts and incidents.
• Analyze and triage security events received from a Managed Detection & Response (MDR) provider.
• Conduct deeper investigations into complex security incidents and emerging threats.
• Review and assess internally identified security events and suspicious activity.
• Perform threat analysis, incident validation, and root cause investigations.
• Document findings, remediation recommendations, and incident response actions.
• Collaborate with security and IT teams to support incident containment and resolution. Required Qualifications
• Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment at the Tier 2 / L2 level.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM)
• Microsoft Defender
• Palo Alto Cortex XDR
• Strong understanding of security monitoring, incident response, and threat investigation processes.
• Ability to independently investigate and analyze security incidents. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with Microsoft Entra ID logs and identity-related security investigations.
• Understanding of authentication, identity threats, and access-related security events.
• Familiarity with enterprise security operations and threat detection best practices.

What We're Looking For This is not a Tier 1 monitoring position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling escalated alerts, performing advanced investigations, and responding to complex security events with minimal supervision. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive security mindset are essential.
