Job Description

Job Title:
Cybersecurity Engineer (Junior Level) Overview We're hiring a high-potential Cybersecurity Engineer to join a growing security team supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone early to mid-career who is highly curious, technically capable, and motivated to grow into a senior-level engineer. This is not a checklist-driven hire. We're looking for someone with strong problem-solving ability, passion for security, and the drive to continuously learn and improve. What You'll Do Support and manage email and web security platforms (primarily Mimecast, with potential exposure to Zscaler) Investigate security issues including email delivery failures, threats, and anomalies Perform root cause analysis on security incidents and provide recommendations Assist with incident response efforts alongside senior engineers Monitor and analyze logs, alerts, and system behavior to identify threats Contribute to Active Directory security initiatives and audits Gradually take on more advanced responsibilities (threat hunting, advanced IR, security tooling) based on growth and performance Work across tools such as SecureWorks, CrowdStrike, and other security platforms as you ramp What Success Looks Like You can break down unfamiliar problems and logically work toward a solution You proactively ask questions and seek to improve your skillset You show clear progression toward operating as a senior engineer within 3-4 years You thrive in an environment where you're given stretch assignments and expected to grow quickly Preferred Background (Emphasis on capability and curiosity over strict experience) Exposure to cybersecurity, infrastructure, or IT support environments Experience or familiarity with: Email security (Mimecast preferred) Web security tools (Zscaler is a plus) Linux environments Basic scripting or development (Python a plus) Security operations (SOC, threat detection, or similar exposure) Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability Demonstrated passion for technology (personal projects, labs, etc.) What We're Really Looking For Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving ability Curiosity and passion for cybersecurity Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies Someone who enjoys solving problems and doesn't give up easily "High-upside" candidate over fully polished experience Team & Environment Small, high-impact security team Direct exposure to senior security leadership and engineering talent Fast-moving, less structured environment focused on capability over process Strong emphasis on mentorship and rapid growth
Compensation Target:
