VM Palo Cloud Firewall Engineer

Job Summary The VM Palo Cloud Firewall Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain virtual Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls within AWS cloud environments. This role focuses exclusively on cloud-native firewall engineering, requiring deep expertise in virtualized firewall deployment, AWS networking, and secure cloud architecture. The engineer will support enterprise-scale designs and collaborate with application and cloud engineering teams to ensure secure, reliable, and optimized traffic flows across cloud workloads. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and support Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls within AWS cloud environments. Architect and deploy Palo Alto firewall instances on EC2, including installation, configuration, scaling, and lifecycle management. Develop cloud-native network security designs aligned with AWS architecture best practices. Configure and optimize AWS networking components such as VPCs, subnets, routing, transit gateways, security groups, and network ACLs. Partner with application and cloud engineering teams to integrate firewall solutions into existing and new workloads. Troubleshoot complex network traffic flows within AWS to ensure performance, security, and reliability. Create architectural documentation, runbooks, and design diagrams supporting cloud network and firewall implementations. Serve as a subject matter expert on Palo Alto virtual firewall engineering beyond GUI-based administration. Required Qualifications Expert-level experience with Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls, including design, deployment, configuration, and operational support. Strong hands-on experience deploying Palo Alto virtual firewalls in AWS EC2. Deep understanding of AWS networking constructs such as VPCs, routing, internet gateways, transit gateways, and traffic flows. Demonstrated experience configuring VPCs, subnets, route tables, policies, and related AWS network components. Ability to design and implement enterprise-scale cloud firewall architectures. Experience engineering end-to-end firewall solutions beyond Panorama GUI administration. Strong troubleshooting skills related to cloud networking and firewall behavior. Preferred Qualifications Palo Alto certifications such as PCNSE or

PCNSA. AWS

certifications such as Solutions Architect or Advanced Networking.
