Job Description
Petersen inc / Precinmac are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard our systems, data, and manufacturing operations while ensuring full compliance with CMMC requirements. This role designs, implements, and monitors security controls within highly regulated Nuclear, Aerospace, and Defense Manufacturing environments and will also provide leadership to a Cybersecurity Analyst who reports directly to this position.
Responsibilities Implement and manage cybersecurity controls aligned with CMCS and other regulatory standards. Monitor security alerts, investigate threats, and support incident response. Conduct vulnerability assessments, system hardening, and risk analyses. Maintain and optimize firewalls, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, and access management tools. Oversee and mentor a Cybersecurity Analyst, providing guidance, task direction, and performance support. Prepare and maintain security documentation, including configurations and compliance evidence. Collaborate with IT, engineering, and compliance teams to ensure secure architecture and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 35 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or security operations. Direct experience within Nuclear, Aerospace, or Defense Manufacturing industries. Handson knowledge of threat detection, mitigation, and industrystandard security tools. Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, or GIAC. Experience supporting audits, regulatory inspections, or compliance programs in highsecurity sectors. Prior experience supervising or mentoring cybersecurity staff.
