Duties Help As an Informion Security Specialist (Title 5) (Permanent), GS-0080-12, you will perform the below duties: Serves as the Wing Informion Protection Program Manager executing/enforcing all operional, functional, and mission assurance aspects of the program. Formules wing program goals, plans, policy implemention guidelines, procedures, and work plans dealing with the development and operion of wing-wide informion security programs and activities and provides technical and administrive direction to subordine wing informion security personnel. Interprets Nional Guard Bureau (NGB), Air Nional Guard (ANG), Air Force (AF), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal regulions for informion security processes as they apply and are implemented within the Wing. Demonstres expert knowledge of the informion security field th is necessary to provide effective guidance, training, and direction to subordine squadron level organizions/activities/units. Establishes and maintains liaisons with senior personnel wing, NGB, ANG, and MAJCOM. Prepares informion security review reports and provides recommendions and advice. Analyzes and evalues the classificion downgrading, declassificion, and destruction programs. Advises installion project engineers, project managers, command mission leads, action officers, and effected operional officers of their responsibility to provide proper classified management guidance and specificion requirements during performance of respective duties. Makes informion protection risk assessments and risk management/mitigion stregies/recommendions based on intelligence-derived thre issues th may require deviions from or synthesis of policies. Uses initiive and resourcefulness in researching and implementing new and improved security methods and procedures. Complexity of duties is amplified as useful precedents often do not exist, technological advancements constantly change parameters for problem solutions, and unknown events significantly change circumstances. Collects, assembles, analyzes, and assesses background, da and other intelligence informion. Develops processes, methods and recommendions to defe intelligence ghering or risk exposure of informion and ultimely prevent the compromise, loss, unauthorized access/disclosure, destruction, distortion or non-accessibility of informion, regardless of physical form or characteristics, over the life cycle of the informion, including actions to regule access to sensitive informion, controlled unclassified informion and classified informion produced by, entrusted to or under the control of the United Stes Government. Recommends studies th frequently cross organizional and functional boundaries, and have the ability to significantly affect budgets and resources. Delivers, Security Awareness and Educion Programs to sisfy security educion and training requirements for all assigned organizions. Revises or augments training to support unique requirements. Oversees the development of recurring educion and training for Top Secret Control Officers (TSCO) and Original Classificion Authorities (OCA). The educion program involves a combinion of security managers performing full time as well as part time security manger duties. Formules and manages supplemental security educion and training courses, meetings, and aids to assure maximum effectiveness of the programs. Presents security merial and distributes pertinent security informion semiannual Security Managers and Contractor Facility Security Managers meetings. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs the overarching focus and direction of the organizion. Provides broad directions for work by articuling goals or financial constraints of higher level management or headquarters. Selects candides for subordine positions taking into considerion skills and qualificions, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives. Ensures reasonable equity of performance standards. Explains performance expections to subordines and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Appraises performance of employees red. Approves expenses for overtime, training and employee travel. Recommends awards, and changes in position classificion. Hears and resolves employee complaints. Inities action to correct performance or conduct problems of employees and inities serious disciplinary actions (e.g. suspensions, removals) involving subordines.
