Job Description

Performs training assignments designed to develop incumbents proficiency in information security compliance support system authorization and security control assessment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Incumbents must be U. S. Citizens. Formal training and on the job training assignments are made in accordance with an Individual Development Plan (IDP) designed for the incumbent's current level of technical proficiency, formal education, certification requirements and job experience.
Representative assignments include:
Certification preparation training DoD and Retail Compliance Auditing
DIACAP/RMF
Standards Information Assurance compliance Systems security testing and assessment Attends formal training courses in a classroom setting necessary to achieve InfoSec Analyst proficiency. On the job assignments encompass both system assessment and analysis related to the InfoSec Analyst challenges and problems. Works with experienced InfoSec Analysts, ISSM and system stakeholders during the training period to gain understanding of functional business processes and InfoSec challenges and resolutions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Duration of training:
Not less than six months and normally not longer than 12 months, dependent upon successful completion of the work assignments defined in the IDP and certification requirements; upon completion of training, incumbent may progress noncompetitively to the position of Information Technology Specialist (InfoSec/Security Analyst Level II), NF 2210 04 (405, PD#8724). Department of the Navy (DON) Cyber Information Technology / Cyber security Workforce positions (Cyber IT/CSWF): This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cyber security Workforce position in specialty area 72 and as a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements of

5239.2, which include: 1. Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in
SECNAV M 5239.2
) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and; 2. Per
SECNAVINST
1543.2, Cyber IT/CSWF individuals shall participate annually in 40 hours of continuous learning (CL) activities to be documented in a current individual development plan (IDP) signed by both the employee and supervisor. 3. Required minimum Cybersecurity Credentials for this position are: a. Education (at least one of the following): i. Associate Degree from accredited University ii.

Certification:
i. CompTIA Security ce Candidates without the required certifications may be placed into this position, but must obtain the required certifications within 6 months of appointment; failure to obtain this requirement will result in termination of employment. SECNAV M
5510.30 and will require a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Candidates must be eligible for and obtain a Top Secret Clearance, within 6 months of appointment. Failure to obtain will result in termination. Incumbent may progress non competitively to a
SECURITY ANALYST II, NF 04
(SC 4A) upon the completion of qualification requirements and training within a 2 year timeframe; advancement is not permitted with less than 1 year in current position. A four year bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology or related field. OR 3 years of experience performing work that allowed the applicant to gain general knowledge of information technology/computer systems comparable to formal education above the high school level that demonstrated the applicant's potential and ability to learn and succeed in performing the duties of the target position. OR Equivalent combination of formal IT education and experience.
