JOB OVERVIEW
MartinFed has an opening for a highly motivated Data Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data architectures and data integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience building and optimizing data pipelines, managing ETL processes, and ensuring data quality and integrity across enterprise systems. This role supports the development of data environments optimized for both transactional processing and advanced analytics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to support enterprise data integration and migration efforts. Build and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other data integration technologies. Develop and implement data architectures optimized for transactional systems, reporting, and analytics. Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, and security across multiple data sources and platforms. Monitor and optimize data workflows and processes to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. Support data migration activities, including data mapping, validation, transformation, and reconciliation. Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, analysts, and database administrators to define and implement data requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and best practices. Document data models, workflows, architectures, and technical processes.
QUALIFICATIONS U.S.
Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in data engineering, data integration, database development, or related technical disciplines. Experience designing and implementing ETL processes and data pipelines. Experience working with relational databases, data modeling, and data architecture principles. Knowledge of data quality, governance, and integrity best practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Microsoft Certified:
Azure Data Engineer Associate certification. Experience with Azure data services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and Data Lake technologies. Experience supporting cloud-based data architectures and migrations. Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Power BI, and enterprise reporting solutions. Experience working in DoD, federal government, or other regulated environments. Knowledge of data warehousing, business intelligence, and advanced analytics platforms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Working on a computer for long periods of time. May involve long period of sitting at a desk. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures.
