As part of our Battery Engineering group, you'll help craft creative battery solutions that deliver more energy in smaller spaces than ever before. By collaborating with product development groups across Apple, you will push the industry boundaries of what batteries can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world. Description We are looking for an individual who will help build out high-throughput data systems and deliver data-driven insights to product and engineering teams across Apple, contributing to the development of new generations of battery technology. In this position, you will be a key contributor in building out the battery data warehouse, developing data pipelines from key sites in a global supply chain, and delivering curated datasets and analyses to human and A.I. consumers on engineering teams. Responsibilities Work with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements, define domain ontology, and establish clear use cases that will drive development of Battery Data Warehouse (BDW) Build data pipelines (ETL, ELT) to populate user-facing views in BDW at an appropriate cadence Work with upstream data providers to establish and enforce data pipeline SLAs Interface with infrastructure teams, including DBA & IT, to ensure proper functioning of all data pipelines and health of data warehouse Contribute to knowledge base and eval suite that drive the behavior, performance, and reliability of BDW-based A.I. agent Provide manual and automated data analyses that drive critical decisions in battery research, development, and qualification Develop Tableau and Splunk reports to support the data visualization needs of internal and cross-functional teams Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, or related fields Experience with Python (or Scala/Java or related) for building production data pipelines Experience building production data pipelines (ETL/ELT) Preferred Qualifications MS in computer science, engineering, or related fields with minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience Strong grasp of database fundamentals, including data modeling, schema design, indexing, normalization, ACID, and OLTP vs. OLAP Hands-on experience with orchestration and batch/stream processing Hands-on experience with data visualization and presentation (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, JMP) Basic understanding of LLMs and MCP server development, including tokenization, embedding, context window, evals Basic understanding of batteries Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
