The position is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring the data flow between databases, applications, and cloud services which includes troubleshooting issues, ensuring data quality, optimizing storage and compute resources, and identifying and implementing improvements. Executes data engineering work and applies technical approaches as directed by the Lead Data Engineer, ensuring alignment with established standards, methods, and architectural practices. This role is located in Tallahassee, FL and requires relocation. This role requires on-site, in-office working environment. 75% - Plan and manage the strategic integration of data and data stores into existing and new systems Plan, execute, and manage the strategic integration of new data and data stores into existing systems and infrastructure throughout the enterprise, including introduction of cloud services as applicable Ensure that data management and integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues Design and implement data pipelines to collect, process and transfer data from various sources to storage systems (data warehouses, data lakes, etc.) Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to collect, cleanse and transform data from various sources (databases, flat files, APIs) inclusive of cloud Work to ensure a high level of data integrity and security Ensure that integration planning and practices are aligned with the enterprise's overall strategic vision Develop standards and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiatives Revise Data Integration (DI) approaches when required, to be compatible with changing business needs and standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions Conduct research and make recommendations on emerging DI products, languages, and standards in relation to the Cloud, BI, and big data management Participate in the selection, deployment, and maintenance of any DI tools, be they DI as-a-service (DIaaS) or DI on-premises, deemed appropriate for the organization Enhance or improve business processes via integration, or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes 20% - Support data visualizations across organization Meets with stakeholders and end-users to gather requirements for data report and visualization requests Facilitates data provisioning in support of reporting and visualization efforts Validates the quality and integrity of report data Maintains or updates business intelligence tools, dashboards, and visualizations Test reports/dashboards in accordance with business and functional design following best practices for quality assurance 05% - Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Five years of related experience. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of direct experience
Preferences:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, management information systems, information technology, or a related field Data integration experience in investment management organizations Experience with Eagle Star/Pace Investment systems and BNY Mellon Data Vault Knowledge of cloud database management systems (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) Experience with database programming languages (e.g., MS
SQL, PL/SQL
) and other programming/scripting languages (e.g., Microsoft .Net, JavaScript/JQuery, Python, R)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, data models, schemas, metadata and workload management Experience with Relational Database Environments and management techniques Experience in working with large, heterogeneous datasets in building and optimizing data pipelines and integrated datasets Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional databases between disparate business units and systems Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping Direct, hands-on experience with automated DI tools Knowledge of project management principles and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, etc Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies Ability to understand end-user needs and requirements to develop right fit solutions Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills Excellent writing and documentation skills Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language Ability to conduct research into application integration issues and products Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Hiring Range:
