The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Cognos Analytics, Framework Manager, DataStage, and PL/SQL , along with exposure to modern data platforms such as Databricks and Apache Spark . This role requires a blend of architecture, hands-on development, and leadership , especially within large-scale BFSI data environments . Key Responsibilities 1. Architecture & Design Lead enterprise BI and data warehousing architecture using IBM Cognos & DataStage Design and implement scalable data models using Cognos Framework Manager (FM) Define data architecture standards, governance, and best practices Translate business reporting requirements into robust technical solutions Drive data strategy and modernization roadmap 2. Cognos Development & Reporting Architect and develop complex reports, dashboards, and packages in Cognos Analytics Optimize query performance and report execution for large datasets Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reporting layer integrity Implement reusable frameworks and semantic layers 3. Data Engineering (ETL & Database) Design and develop ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage Develop and optimize PL/SQL procedures, functions, and queries Enable seamless data integration across multiple systems Ensure data quality, validation, and transformation accuracy 4. Modern Data Platform Integration Contribute to data modernization initiatives using: Databricks Apache Spark (Scala / PySpark) Integrate legacy BI platforms with cloud/big data ecosystems Enable hybrid architectures (on-prem + cloud) Support migration strategies from traditional BI to modern stacks 5. Performance & Optimization Identify and resolve ETL and reporting performance bottlenecks Implement performance tuning strategies across: Cognos DataStage Databases Drive automation, efficiency, and scalability improvements 6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Collaborate with business, data, and engineering teams Lead technical design discussions and architecture reviews Mentor junior developers and guide delivery teams Participate in governance, compliance, and solution approval processes Required Skills (ATS-Optimized) Primary Skills IBM Cognos Analytics (Advanced) Cognos Framework Manager (FM) IBM InfoSphere DataStage (ETL Design & Optimization) Advanced PL/SQL programming Data Warehousing & BI Architecture Dimensional Modeling (Star/Snowflake Schemas) Secondary / Good-to-Have Databricks platform Apache Spark (Scala / PySpark) Cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / Google Cloud Platform) Data integration with hybrid ecosystems
