Job Description

job summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Data Engineer to join a premier data engineering consulting practice. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the technical cornerstone for enterprise clients, designing and deploying sophisticated data architectures required to support production-grade Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications. You will navigate diverse technical environments, setting the standards for data quality, modeling, and orchestration. Your work will directly enable the transition from experimental AI prototypes to resilient, enterprise-scale systems that deliver measurable business value.

  • 200,000 per year work hours: 8am to 5pm education: No Degree Required responsibilities:
Architect & Build:
Develop scalable, high-volume ELT/ETL pipelines ingesting complex datasets from legacy on-premise databases, ERPs, and third-party APIs into centralized cloud warehouses.
Optimize Performance:
Lead the audit and refactoring of existing data workflows to reduce latency and operational costs for enterprise-scale environments.
AI Infrastructure:
Design and implement pipelines specifically for AI workloads, including managing vector databases to support Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and model inference.
Ensure Data Integrity:
Implement comprehensive data quality frameworks, ensuring automated testing and validation logic catches anomalies before they reach production.
Standardize Ecosystems:
Drive the adoption of Modern Data Stack (MDS) best practices, specifically focusing on dbt, Airflow, and Beam.
Technical Leadership:
Provide mentorship to the engineering team through rigorous code reviews and the enhancement of coding standards and documentation.
qualifications:
  • 6+ years of professional Data Engineering experience with a focus on modern cloud platforms.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL is mandatory.
  • Strong background in building custom integrations and data tools using software engineering best practices.
  • Deep production-level experience with dbt for modeling and Airflow for orchestration.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery or Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in managing environment reproducibility using Terraform and Docker within CI/CD compliant pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with vector databases, PostgreSQL, and streaming/messaging services like Pub/Sub.
