ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THE ROLE
Medix is currently seeking an AWS Data Engineer with Healthcare or Pharmacy expertise for a full-time employment opportunity. Our client is an innovative Pharmacy Tech startup organization. Their data ecosystem ingests millions of Healthcare and Pharmacy Claims each month to provide a data-driven approach for improving how patients access and afford medications. The technology is cloud-native, built with the AWS stack. We are seeking experienced AWS Data Engineers to join this team and help build, scale and maintain data pipelines for this platform.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in a team environment to design, implement, and support the scalability of cloud-native data solutions—including data lakes and warehouses Working within an AWS environment, and with AWS services like Redshift, Aurora, S3, Lambda, and Airflow. Building, automating and maintaining robust ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions to ingest and process complex healthcare / pharmacy datasets. Working in a DataOps environment to optimize the performance of data pipeline Maintaining data governance. Enforcing strict data security protocols, access controls, and compliance frameworks to safeguard sensitive healthcare information. Monitoring, troubleshooting and fine-tuning data streams and storage architectures to maximize speed, minimize costs, and enhance query efficiency via strategic partitioning and caching. Providing application and database support, writing and optimizing clean Python code, advanced SQL queries, and complex stored procedures to support internal data applications. Partnering closely with product and analytics teams to translate business requirements into highly functional, scalable data models.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
8-10+ years professional experience as a Data Engineer Deep expertise in AWS cloud-native ecosystems, specifically utilizing Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, Redshift, Aurora, and RDS PostgreSQL.
