POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Engineer II will play a key role in building and sustaining a modern data platform powered by Snowflake. In this position, you'll be responsible for developing reliable data pipelines, enhancing data quality, and supporting the migration from legacy systems to a scalable, cloud-based architecture. Your work will directly support our organization's innovation. We're looking for a proactive, hands-on professional who thrives working with diverse data sources and is eager to leverage modern technologies. PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

Build and maintain data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, and APIs Develop and optimize data transformations within Snowflake Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data issues across systems Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and consistency across platforms Investigate and resolve data discrepancies between source systems and downstream datasets Contribute to improving deployment processes using CI/CD best practices and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) Collaborate with engineering and business teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions Maintain clear documentation for pipelines, datasets, and workflows Stay current with modern data tooling, including opportunities to incorporate AI-driven solutions where appropriate
CAPABILITIES
Demonstrates strong ownership, resolving issues from start to finish Thrives on tackling complex or ambiguous data challenges Effectively communicates with both technical and non-technical audiences Excels at prioritizing and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced setting Maintains a strong balance between speed, accuracy, and long-term sustainability Is receptive to feedback and committed to continuous process improvement Has strong problem-solving skills, especially when working with complex or inconsistent data
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field Strong SQL skills (ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries) Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologies Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, dbt, or similar) Experience working with APIs and integrating multiple data sources Familiarity with CI/CD practices, version control, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform) Exposure to AI/ML concepts or interest in applying AI within data workflows
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work in office is required a minimum of one day per week, or more as needed based on business needs Candidates must reside in the greater Vancouver-Portland metropolitan area This is a full-time role Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. This position will also have to do some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. FEDERAL HEALTH CARE PRICE TRANSPARENCY REQUIREMENTS
The Federal Health Care Price Transparency Requirements have created Machine Readable Files to make public the financial arrangements in place between heath plans and providers. These files are designed to be read by a computer and are intended to be available at the industry level for health care researchers, policymakers, analytics companies and applications software to have access to health plan costs nationally on an aggregate basis for the first time. Machine-readable files are a requirement of the Transparency in Coverage Final Rule. Health insurers are required to publicly display certain health care price information via machine-readable files on their websites. GN's (ReSound, Beltone and Audigy) medical provider, BCBSMN will have "Transparency in Coverage" (TiC) information available.
