Job Description

About the Role Candidates must be based in Florida or North Carolina. No relocation offered. We are seeking a skilled, energetic, and reliable Data Engineer II with 4-5 years of experience to join our team. In this mid-level role, you will be crucial in transforming raw data into actionable insights, primarily by designing, building, and maintaining efficient data pipelines. This role requires deep comfort with AWS cloud technologies and a strong focus on data warehousing and business intelligence enablement.
Key Responsibilities ETL/Data Pipeline Development:
Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to move data from various sources, primarily SQL and PostgreSQL databases, into our cloud-based data warehouse.
Data Quality and Preparation:
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, and structure the data warehouse to efficiently support reporting and business intelligence needs.
Cloud Operations:
Utilize AWS services, including AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), to facilitate data movement, and manage and optimize data infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem.
BI Tool Integration:
Collaborate with analytics teams to integrate cleaned and transformed data with BI platforms such as Tableau (or similar tools) to create interactive dashboards and reports.
Performance Optimization:
Continuously monitor and tune data processes and database queries for optimal performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, ETL processes, and data models. Required Skills and Experience 4-5 years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL development, and business intelligence solutions. Proven expertise in SQL, including advanced querying, stored procedures, and optimization, specifically with PostgreSQL. Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services related to data warehousing (e.g., Redshift, S3) and ETL/Data Migration (e.g., AWS DMS, Glue). Experience with other commercial or open-source ETL tools. Proficiency with at least one major BI platform (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) for preparing and connecting to data sources. Solid understanding of data modeling techniques, data warehousing principles, and dimensional modeling. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system reliability and performance. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
