Dell USA L.P. is seeking a Senior Advisor, Data Engineering at its Round Rock, Texas facility. May work remotely.
Duties:
Develop technical tools and programming to cleanse, organize and transform data. Maintain, protect and update data structures and integrity on an automated basis. Apply data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques in order to tie together large data sets from a variety of sources. Partner with both internal and external sources to design, build and oversee the deployment and operation of technology architecture, solutions and software. Design, develop and program methods, processes and systems to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights and solutions. Responsible for the maintenance, optimization, improvement, cleaning, and manipulation of data in the businesss operational and analytics databases. Work in collaboration with data engineers, data scientists, architects and business to design actionable strategic projects and break complex problems into actionable tasks.
Requirements:
Masters degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Statistics, or related technical field of study plus six (6) years of experience in data engineering, data analytics or related occupation OR Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Statistics, or related technical field of study plus eight (8) years of experience in data engineering, data analytics or related occupation.
Requires experience with:
Spark; Hadoop Map or Reduce; Hive and Pig; Big data analytics; Unix and Shell Scripting; Amazon Web Services (AWS); Machine Learning; Java, Python, Scala; PL/SQL; Kafka; and Cassandra (NoSQL).
