Job Description:

Insight Global is currently hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a large healthcare client. This role can sit FULLY REMOTE and will be a 7-9 month contract only. They are looking for somebody who can work Monday through Friday during eastern standard hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and solutions within Google Cloud Platform. Responsibilities Support ongoing maintenance and improvement of a GCP-based data platform, ensuring reliability and performance Analyze, troubleshoot, and stabilize existing data jobs and pipelines, improving efficiency and scalability Lead lift-and-shift migrations from legacy cloud environments to modern GCP architecture Modernize and refactor legacy Python and SQL codebases, establishing standardized development practices Write and optimize complex SQL queries across platforms such as BigQuery and Snowflake Support and drive GitHub-based deployments and migrations, including CI/CD best practices Contribute to the buildout and evolution of new GCP architecture, including scalable frameworks and processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on modernization strategies and cloud best practices Implement and promote cloud architecture standards and scalable operational procedures Operate as a standalone contributor, independently owning deliverables while remaining collaborative Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering or similar role Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud architecture design Proven ability to scale cloud jobs and data pipelines Proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering and ETL development Experience modernizing legacy systems and migrating to cloud-native architecture Hands-on experience with GitHub and version control best practices Needs to be able to work stand alone
