Sr. Data Engineer McLane Company 2.7 ( ) Temple, TX #

Position summary analytical professional with deep SQL expertise and experience supporting data warehouses, analytics platforms, and batch processing environments. This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX. What You'll Do- Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server
- Support and enhance enterprise Data Warehouse architectures, including dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for automation and batch scheduling
- Work with Mainframe datasets and utilities to extract and integrate data
- Build and support datasets and data models for IBM Cognos Analytics reporting
- Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high quality data solutions
- Troubleshoot data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
- Advanced SQL expertise across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server
- Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts (ETL, dimensional modeling, data marts, OLAP)
- Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.)
- Experience with Mainframe systems (JCL, datasets, utilities)
- Hands on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tools
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and collaboration skills
- This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
