Job Description
Experteer Overview As a Data Engineer - Data, you design and deliver cloud-based data solutions that enable scalable analytics and AI-driven insights for Fisher Investments. You'll partner with business, technology, and governance teams to build secure, compliant data platforms powering advanced analytics. You act as the enterprise expert for data processing systems and pipelines across databases, data warehouses, data marts, and other repositories. You'll collaborate with IT teams to align security, monitoring, and tooling, reporting to the AVP of Data Delivery and Data Governance. This role combines hands-on engineering with mentoring and governance-focused work to support global growth.
Compensation / Benefits
- Design, develop and deliver enterprise data asset solutions and pipelines
- Collaborate with business intelligence and IT teams to elicit requirements using Agile practices
- Develop and manage data integration tools, databases, warehouses and analytical systems
- Build ETL/ELT processes from diverse sources (databases, APIs, files)
- Model data storage (data vault or dimensional) across platforms to meet business needs
- Coordinate security, monitoring, tooling with responsible teams
- Provide operational support and incident management for data pipelines
- Document processes, procedures and technical designs
- Coach and mentor junior data and BI personnel across the company Tasks
- 8+ years of experience developing data-related solutions and software
- 5+ years with relational databases and Microsoft Azure platform
- 2+ years with multiple cloud technologies in Microsoft Stack (Azure IaaS/PaaS) and familiarity with alternative clouds
- 2+ years designing and developing on-premises and cloud-based Azure infrastructure components
- 2+ years hands-on development with Azure services (T-SQL, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Data Factory, Synapse, Cosmos DB, GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD)
- Advanced knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data transmission (SSIS, Informatica, Kafka, Spark, MuleSoft, or equivalent)
- Advanced knowledge of database technologies (SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL)
- Advanced knowledge of programming languages (Python, SQL, Scala)
- Advanced knowledge of IT infra standards and DevOps tooling
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field Key requirements
