Job Description

Halvik Corp delivers a wide range of services to 13 executive agencies and 15 independent agencies. Halvik is a highly successful WOB business with more than 50 prime contracts and 500+ professionals delivering Digital Services, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Cyber Security and Cutting-Edge Technology across the US Government. Be a part of something special! Role and Responsibilities This position will support the DOT Secure Data Commons/Data Analytics and Visualization Environment (SDC/DAVE) platform as a data engineer. The engineer will work alongside senior architects and data engineers to design, build, and maintain the data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data across the platform's data lake and warehouse environment. The role is designed for high-aptitude early-career engineers who learn quickly and can grow into meaningful ownership of pipeline and platform responsibilities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and PySpark within a distributed compute environment Working with big data technologies including Apache Spark for large-scale data transformation and processing Developing scalable database solutions using PostgreSQL and other relational or columnar data stores Contributing to data quality monitoring and automated testing frameworks within pipeline workflows Supporting the development of data visualizations and dashboards (Tableau, Power BI) Participating in code reviews, documentation, and change control processes Collaborating with senior architects to implement data catalog and metadata tagging standards Rapidly learning new tools and platforms as the program evaluates and adopts them, including emerging AI and analytics capabilities Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related technical discipline Required Skills Programming and Data Engineering Strong SQL skills with practical experience querying relational or columnar data stores Proficiency in Python for data processing, transformation, and scripting Demonstrated experience with ETL/ELT processes, data manipulation, or database management - through coursework, projects, or internship Familiarity with version control and collaborative development practices (Git) Portfolio or GitHub repository demonstrating data engineering or database project work Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Public Trust security clearance Halvik offers a competitive full benefits package including: Company-supported medical, dental, vision, life, STD, and LTD insurance Benefits include 11 federal holidays and PTO Eligible employees may receive performance-based incentives in recognition of individual and/or team achievements. 401(k) with company matching Flexible Spending Accounts for commuter, medical, and dependent care expenses Tuition Assistance Charitable Contribution matching Halvik Corp is an equal opportunity employer.
