Job Description

Job Description At Alaska Airlines, we are looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on building and maintaining data pipelines and data models using Databricks. You will work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data is accessible and usable for analytics and reporting. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing data solutions, optimizing data workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs. You will also be responsible for ensuring data quality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Databricks. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements. Optimize data workflows for performance and efficiency. Ensure data quality and integrity across all data solutions. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues. Document data processes and workflows. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field. Strong experience with Databricks and Apache Spark. Proficiency in SQL and data modeling. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
