Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Under general supervision of a Supervisor I, Compliance Unit, the Research Data Analyst (RDA) II is responsible for maintaining the Department's Equal Employment Opportunity Program's (EEOP) mandated reports, performing research, analysis, and data visualization on EEOP topics, and collaborating internally and externally in support of EEO and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) activities. The RDAII develops internal and external partnerships supporting a collaborative approach to EEOP activities, and effectively communicates insights from a dataset through storytelling using narratives and visualizations. Will work closely with other analysts to compile data for various mandated reports and provide narratives as needed. The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of the Department's EEO Director's Policy (DP) and Deputy Directives (DD) and Equity Statement, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Fair Employment and Housing Act, Government Code (GC Sections 12920-12951), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 23), and DEI principles and initiatives. EEOP is a critical partner implementing the Department's Equity value and leading diversity and inclusion, tackling matters regarding discrimination and harassment proactively and holistically. Travel may be required. Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Research Data Analyst II exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS

A completed State Application form (STD 678) and written Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) are required for an applicant to be considered for an interview. The SOQ must be in narrative form (no bulleted content and not a resume) and tailored to the specific position rather than a general summary of your good qualities. The SOQ should be no longer than two pages, single spaced, and written in 12-point font. The SOQ should address the following: 1. Describe your experience with using various data software. What software have you used? What was your role and what data did you use the software for? 2. Can you share an example of a successful data-related project you've had a lead role in from start to finish? What were the key factors contributing to its success? Describe the data source and the intended audience. 3. Describe your experience managing reports with varying deadlines through collaboration with others for details and data. Explain how you managed multiple priority tasks and maintained an organized approach to meet deadlines. 4. The California Department of Transportation has adopted the value of Equity. Why is equity in the workplace important? Failure to include and complete the SOQ may result in disqualification for interview.
