DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Business Operations Manager to join our team. The Academic Research Initiatives and Science Community team (ARI-SciCom) strategically aligns external academic research partnerships and internal scientific capabilities. Our team supports innovation by funding potential breakthrough academic research, building tools that empower our scientists, and fostering internal scientific excellence to accelerate long-term customer impact. We believe that external research only generates value when it flows back into the organization, and internal science only reaches its potential when connected to the frontier of academic discovery. In this role, you will drive operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements, managing cross-functional programs, and delivering data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions for Amazon's vast scientific investment and community portfolio. You will work closely with leadership and partner teams to scale mechanisms, remove bottlenecks, and ensure the business runs efficiently. Key job responsibilities
Process Improvement:
Design, implement, and optimize scalable ARI-SciCom business processes and operational mechanisms
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Build and maintain operational metrics, voice-of-partner mechanisms, dashboards, and reporting cadences to track business health and surface insights
Strategic Planning:
Support annual and quarterly planning cycles including goal setting, resource allocation, and capacity planning
Stakeholder Management:
Partner with leadership, finance, HR, and technical teams to align on priorities and drive execution
Operational Cadences:
Manage recurring business reviews (MBR/QBR), ensuring the right inputs, outputs, and follow-through on action items
Documentation:
Author and maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, and process documentation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
