Data Analytics Intern-Enterprise Data Systems Implementation (REQ 324)

Applied Physical Sciences is seeking a highly motivated and curious Summer Intern to join our Enterprise Data Systems Implementation Team. This opportunity is ideal for a rising senior undergraduate or graduate student interested in data analytics, reporting, and enterprise systems who enjoys turning data into actionable insights. In this role, you will work with real business data, contribute to reporting and analytics initiatives, and gain hands-on exposure to enterprise data systems. You'll be trusted to take ownership of tasks, think critically about data needs, and support ongoing improvements in reporting, visualization, and documentation. APS works on exciting, technically challenging, research & development programs where multidisciplinary teams work closely to address difficult national security needs. Job Functions and Responsibilities Assist in gathering, cleaning, and transforming data from multiple sources Build and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards Analyze data to support reporting and operational insights Help document data processes, report logic, and visualization standards Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for reporting improvements Participate in team meetings and contribute to data-driven problem solving Required Skills and Attributes Enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree program (e.g., Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, MBA, or related field) Power BI experience with demonstrated ability to build reports and dashboards through coursework, academic projects, or professional experience Strong data visualization skills, with the ability to clearly communicate insights using charts, graphs, and interactive visuals Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions Ability to work proactively and adapt in a cross functional, fast paced environment Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, and resourcefulness, with the ability to identify what needs to be done and take actions Preferred Skills and Attributes Experience using additional data visualization or analytics tools in a professional or workplace setting (beyond academic coursework) Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 PSA or PO Comfortable working in environments with open-ended or evolving requirements Strong independent problem-solving skills, balanced with the ability to collaborate and ask thoughtful questions when needed Ability to manage multiple tasks and balance shifting priorities Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and organize daily schedules
