POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Analyst supports, designs, coordinates, implements, and supervises system-wide research of data projects in order to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and services. Evaluates analyzes data, writes reports, communicates results, and makes recommendations related to data research projects. This position reports to the Director of Research, Evaluation, Assessment, and Accountability.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
Collects, reviews, verifies, and analyzes data from state and District data systems. Coordinates and monitors the collection of data to ensure reliability and validity; develops required and supplemental data reports. Informs the strategic planning process for various instructional reform initiatives in collaboration through the use of system-wide data; serves on district-level collaborative and improvement teams. Communicates results of data research to staff, administration, parents, and other external parties as necessary. Assists in the development of grant proposals for securing external funding. All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Master's degree in education, business, statistics, computer science, or instructional administration field required. Minimum of three (3) years experience working with large volumes of data required. Experience serving on organizational reform teams and/or initiatives as well as experience with K-12 or higher education preferred. Ability to manage projects and duties with minimal supervision. Ability to effectively manage time and priorities. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Project Management certification preferred.
Analytical:
supervisor is available to review established broad objectives; independent judgment is required to review and approve major recommendations. Requires regular, frequent contact with internal/ external personnel and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter-organizational teams. Responsible for multiple functions of instructional supervision with a high-level accountability for effective operation and results. Applies, recommends and implements technology concepts to improve the effectiveness of data, instruction and pedagogy. Proficient use of spreadsheets, pivot tables, data visualization tools, statistical analysis software like R, SPSS, SAS, Python, and knowledge and experience with predictive analytics, and computer modeling.
NOTE:
This is a grade 26, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 8.
