Research Data Analyst The Jackson Laboratory United States, Maine, Bar Harbor 600 Main Street (Show on map) Jun 20, 2026
Job Summary:
The role requires a highly motivated, innovative, driven, and independent analyst who will perform analysis complex biological data - including genomics, behavior, and other modalities of data. The ability to plan, execute, and report analytic results is important. Ability to collaborate, integrate, and communicate with the bench scientists conducting the experiments and generating the data is key. This is a highly collaborative and integrated environment with multiple projects. Role will be directly supervised. Manager will determine assignment and prioritization of projects, as well as assessment of progress on projects, in direct consultation with analyst. The position requires someone who can independently plan and execute work, is self-motivated, organized, and can deliver on timely basis. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
  • Level I requires BS or MS degree Master's in the Computational or Biological Sciences. Incumbents who have not achieved Masters degree may compensate for lack of a degree with at least 1-2 years of professional bioinformatics work experience. Works under close supervision.
  • Performs statistical analysis; interprets and evaluates results, and compiles data for peer and PI review
  • Ability to interact with all individuals in a productive, professional and positive manner to enhance the outcome of the goals of the research program
  • Exceptional computer skills, ability to develop technical documents, databases and presentations
  • Demonstrated success in conducting multiple, concurrent assignments or a multi-faceted project
  • Demonstrated team player with professional, positive attitude and willingness to be flexible
  • Demonstrated skill in effective and professional oral and written communication
  • Ability to set priorities, balance different projects and meet deadlines
