Job Description

Description
  • Hybrid with onsite in South Metro of Twin Cities, MN required
  • We are looking for an experienced AI/Data Governance Analyst to support enterprise-wide governance practices.
This long-term Contract position will help bring structure, accountability, and consistency to data management efforts across departments in a complex environment with varying levels of governance maturity. The role is centered on turning an established governance direction into practical day-to-day processes that improve adoption, reduces ambiguity, and creates sustainable standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capability with the ability to guide cross-functional stakeholders toward clear and repeatable governance practices. This need is more focused around leading an existing data team and consulting on these efforts and best practices vs detailed hands on work with the data.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of established data governance priorities by translating strategic goals into practical workflows, operating standards, and department-level activities.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define ownership, stewardship expectations, and decision-making responsibilities for critical data assets.
  • Create and maintain governance documentation, including policies, data definitions, process guides, and standards that promote consistency across teams.
  • Assess current data management practices across departments and identify opportunities to improve quality, accountability, and operational efficiency.
  • Use analytical tools and reporting platforms such as SQL and BusinessObjects to evaluate data issues, monitor governance effectiveness, and support informed decisions.
  • Facilitate meetings, working sessions, and governance discussions that drive alignment, encourage adoption, and resolve data-related challenges.
  • Support metadata, lineage, and information management activities using tools such as erwin Data and collaboration platforms including SharePoint and OneNote.
  • Help standardize governance processes for decentralized and legacy data environments so they can be repeated, sustained, and scaled over time.
ANYONE INTERESTED IN MORE DETAILS SHOULD CONTACT ROBERT BROMMEL AT 612-503-4032.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting data governance, data management, or information governance initiatives in complex organizations.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, data analysis methods, and business intelligence concepts.
  • Experience using reporting and analytics tools such as BusinessObjects Technologies to interpret data and communicate findings.
  • Familiarity with metadata, data modeling, or governance platforms, including erwin Data or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with collaboration and documentation tools such as SharePoint and OneNote.
  • Ability to work effectively in environments with distributed data ownership, legacy records, and differing levels of process maturity.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to build clarity, accountability, and stakeholder alignment across departments.
