A Sr. Data Analyst role with our Property Analytics team means you will support and advance the data and analytics capabilities related to Target Properties' strategic initiatives to drive returns on capital spend in stores and reduce program expenses. As a part of the Properties Analytics team, our analysts work closely with business owners as well as technology and data product teams staffed with product managers and engineers. They support all Properties strategic initiatives with data, reporting and analysis. Properties teams rely on this team of analysts to bring data to support decision making. As a Sr. Data Analyst your responsibilities will be exploring data, technologies, and the application of mathematical techniques to derive business insights. Data analysts spend their time determining the best approach to gather, model, manipulate, analyze and present data. You will work within an agile environment which requires active participation in ceremonies and team meetings. In this role, you'll have opportunities to continuously upskill to stay current with new technologies in the industry via formal training, peer training groups and self-directed education. This role specifically will support a new initiative requiring new data and metric development. Your curiosity and ability to roll up guest level insights will be critical. The team will leverage in store analytic data to measure the impact of promotions, product placement, or physical changes at any given store has on store operations, guest experience and purchase decisions. This new capability is still being defined, which allows for creative thinking and leadership opportunities. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.About you:
BA/BS or equivalent experience 3+ years of work experience in data analysis or masters level education in business analytics, data science, etc. Utilize tools (Python, SQL) to build insights and solutions off varying data storage platforms (GCP, Hadoop, Postgres, Oracle, etc.) Solid problem solving, analytical skills, data curiosity, data mining, Data creation and consolidation Experience developing metrics, reports, visualizations and/or statistics while documenting code and adhering to data management principles Advanced proficiency in at least 1 visualization tool (i.e. Power BI, Domo, Tableau) with willingness and ability to learn additional visualizations tools Knowledge of AB Testing methods, time series, S&OP planning, forecasting models including statistical analysis This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
