Reporting to the Manager of Student Analytics within University Data Analytics and Institutional Research (UDAIR), this position contributes to the development and maintenance of reporting tools, dashboards, and analyses that inform strategy across enrollment management and the campus. This role offers the opportunity to expand skills in data querying, visualization, and stakeholder collaboration, with exposure to institutional data systems. The position will build specific expertise in supporting the Office of Admissions, while regularly engaging with additional Enrollment Management constituents. Analytical Work Conduct descriptive and exploratory analyses (e.g., trends, comparisons, forecasting indicators) with guidance, applying appropriate statistical methods as competency increases. Assist in identifying patterns and developing insights related to the applicant lifecycle, recruitment goals, and other trends in student data. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration Build collaborative relationships with internal partners, especially the Office of Admissions, to understand business processes and ensure reporting accuracy. Seek clarification on requirements and proactively engage colleagues and supervisors to refine data requests and ensure analyses address stakeholder needs. Communicate progress, findings, and challenges clearly through appropriate channels. Documentation and BI Best Practices Maintain accurate documentation for data management, analysis methods, reporting processes, and recurring workflows. Contribute to responsible stewardship of Power BI content, including workspace organization, dataset maintenance, and adherence to team governance practices. Professional Development & Growth Participate in training and professional development opportunities; apply newly acquired skills to enhance data quality, analytical rigor, and reporting efficiency. Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in learning institutional systems, UDAIR standards, and Enrollment Management processes. Shift 40 hours weekly, M-F Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications 4 years' experience in a professional setting, preferably at an institution of higher education, or in other education/public service-focused settings. Demonstrated prior experience in data analytics and reporting, as well as prudence in handling sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrated ability in using the Microsoft Office Suite, including an intermediate or advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e., pivot tables, formulas, Power Query, etc.). Familiarity with data visualization tools (i.e., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Cognos) as well as experience with programmable software (R, Python, SAS). Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to relay data issues in an organized and easily understandable manner. Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service orientation, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to relay data issues in an organized and easily understandable manner. Excellent time management and organizational skills with a keen orientation to detail and concern for accuracy, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability and desire to learn and use new software applications.
Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range:
$59,737.60 - 80,000 annually
