Job Description

American Marketing & Publishing LLC Position:
Data Analyst Work Location:
915 E. Lincoln Hwy. DeKalb, IL 60115
Salary:
$75,000 to $90,000 per year
SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
Must be able to perform all of the following: 1)
Data Extraction & Preparation:
a.

Write and optimize SQL queries against relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL); b.

Cleanse, merge, and structure large datasets from multiple sources (Excel, CSV, ERP exports); 2)
Reporting & Visualization:
a.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or SSRS); b.

Produce both scheduled reports (e.g., monthly commission summaries) and on demand ad hoc analyses; 3)
Statistical & Trend Analysis:
a.

Perform basic statistical analyses (trend identification, variance analysis, simple forecasting); b.

Reconcile results across data sources and document validation steps; 4)
Stakeholder Collaboration:
a.

Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to gather requirements and refine metrics; b.

Experience preparing client facing reports that track and illustrate statistical trends to diverse audiences; 5)
Documentation & Quality Assurance:
a.

Document data sources, transformation logic, and report specifications in accordance with internal standards; b.

Conduct data validation and testing in Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions) to ensure accuracy; 6)
Team Leadership & Coordination:
a.

Lead weekly stand up meetings and daily task allocation for Data Analysts/SQL Developers; b.

Mentor, train, and review the work of team members to ensure consistent quality and adherence to best practices; and c.

Provide status reports and escalations to the Director of Project Management. Hybrid preferred; option of fully remote with manager approval. Apply at careers@ampcorporate.com
REQUIREMENTS
Must have a Bachelors in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or related field and (2) two years of experience in job offered or in professional business or data analysis experience. Must have experience with the following: 1)
SQL:
Proficient in writing complex queries, joins, aggregations, and basic stored procedures; 2)
BI/Visualization:
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, or similar platforms; 3)
Excel:
Must have experience with Excel advanced functions, such as VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, or array formulas; 4)Data to
Insights:
Experience translating technical analyses of data trends into clear business recommendations for non technical audiences; 5)Attention to
Detail:
Experience preparing detailed, polished client and executive-facing reports and dashboards that illustrate key metrics and trends; and 6)
Communication:
Strong written communication, demonstrated by creating documentation, dashboards with explanatory notes, or presentation decks.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
