50-minute virtual interview (2nd round onsite if required) Job Overview We are seeking a Data Analyst I to support operational reporting, data analysis, and business process improvement initiatives for a leading healthcare organization (Blue Cross Blue Shield). The ideal candidate will work closely with business teams to extract, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Extract data from multiple systems using SQL and other data tools for recurring, ad hoc, and cyclical reporting Develop reports, dashboards, and analytical models to support business operations Analyze data trends and summarize findings for management and stakeholders Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions Maintain and enhance recurring reports with a focus on automation and accuracy Present insights and recommendations to business users in a clear and actionable manner Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Healthcare, or related field OR equivalent experience (2-year degree + 2 years experience OR 4 years relevant experience) Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work with complex data sets and perform statistical analysis Understanding of reporting systems and data workflows Preferred Skills Experience with Tableau, Power Automate, Python, or GitHub Experience with SAS, DB2, or other relational databases Healthcare data experience (ICD-9 / CPT coding knowledge a plus) Strong consulting, requirement gathering, and stakeholder management skills Work Environment Hybrid work model (3 days onsite per week) Collaborative team environment (approx. 10-member analytics team) Mix of development work and operational reporting support Focus on data-driven decision-making, automation, and process improvement
