Data Quality Engineer

Remote, United States Overview:

The Data Quality Engineer will own and enhance data quality across our data platforms in support of enterprise data governance initiatives. This role is focused on proactively monitoring, validating, and improving data reliability while partnering closely with data engineers, software engineers, and data scientists. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable with governance-focused work, and able to operate effectively amid ambiguous requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitor, validate, and maintain data quality across production data pipelines to support data governance objectives Conduct regular code and query reviews to ensure adherence to data quality standards and best practices Actively monitor data pipelines and dashboards to detect, triage, investigate, and resolve data quality issues Support data migrations, including validation, reconciliation, and post-migration quality assurance Optimize SQL queries and data processing logic for performance and scalability Consult on data modeling, automation, and validation strategies to improve consistency and reliability Contribute to the development and evolution of data quality standards, processes, and tooling Identify opportunities to incorporate automation and AI-driven approaches into data quality workflows

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

6+ years of hands-on experience working with advanced SQL (complex queries, performance tuning, data validation) Strong Python expertise, including scripting, automation, and data validation frameworks Solid foundation in data engineering concepts, including pipelines, transformations, and data lifecycle management Experience working with analytics and dashboarding tools and supporting downstream reporting accuracy Familiarity with data modeling concepts and automated data quality checks

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in a dedicated data quality, data governance, or data assurance role Exposure to AI-assisted data validation, anomaly detection, or automation techniques Experience helping define or enforce enterprise data quality or governance standards Compensation range for this position is $108,000 - $132,000/year DOE.
